Catching Up

I haven't written on our blog in awhile... well I guess that's not entirely true. But I haven't added any pictures of what we've been up to lately.
Here's what's new with Nixon lately: he's played with my sister Nikki a whole lot. We gave him his first bath, he hated it. He ran around the house trying to rub the wetness off. He's been taking naps with Miles. He also tried sushi.

Miles and I went to Broulims and we found a very large donut! We cut it in half and shared. We've also enjoyed pina coladas Coach's in Sacramento when I went to visit Miles. It's taken me awhile to post those pictures! We didn't really take too many pictures when I went to surprise visit him. I guess we were just enjoying the few days I got to spend with him!

Miles is going to Albertson's while I get my hair cut today to buy me a pumpkin to carve. Pumpkins are my favorite part of Halloween. I get to be artistic using a different medium! I spent all night making templates to carve.. I'm pretty excited. Whomever is reading this should be too. It's going to be awesome.

Family Photos

I really wanted some cute new pictures of us with Nixon. So last week Miles and I had my sister, Nikki, take some family photos for us. I really love photos that capture the family or couples personality, so we tried to incorporate a little "us" into the shoot. Nixon wasn't a very cooperative model. He was too excited by the ducks and the leaves and the excitement of a new place. Unfortunately quite a few of them were blurry.. but we got a bunch of really cute ones too. Oh and our little Nixon is pretty rad.. he likes to longboard. He likes to climb on with you and ride for a little bit. He mostly likes it when you sit with him on your lap and scoot around on the longboard, but he also likes to just jump on with you when you're moving. We seriously have the coolest puppy ever.

I want to convince my friend Megan, who is an extremely talented photographer, to take a few more pictures for us... hopefully this blog post will guilt her into it :)

Ode to the House Hubby

house·hus·band n.    King of the castle... Ruler of the roost... until his wife comes home from work (or school).
Have you seen the new reality show on Fox? Miles and I watched an episode a few weeks ago. It's called Househusbands of Hollywood. Miles and I got a good laugh out of it, because Miles is in fact a househusband right now. When Miles decided to extend with Pinnacle, he had to defer a semester of school and is now home doing all the little things that need to get done around the house. Now Miles isn't exactly a househusband per-say, because he still makes about 98% of our money. (Although I am booked solid this week with photo gigs!!!) But this is an ode to my house hubby.
Dearest Househubby,
I hope you understand how much I appreciate all you do. Thank you for being so happy and willing to do the dishes, clean up after my endless messes, letting me watch Gossip Girl and 90210 without complaint, vacuuming, folding the laundry that you also happened to wash and dry, playing with our dog that has somehow turned into 1/3 border collie, 1/3 shitzu, and 1/3 satan (and for loving him, just like I do, anyway), for cleaning up doggy poops, for driving me to and from school close to twice a day, for making me dinner, for making cookies today, for coming with me on photoshoots, and for countless other little acts of service a househubby performs each day. I'm sorry that I change my clothes 3 times a day and leave little messes, I'm sorry that I have a lot of homework that consumes my life, I'm sorry that sometimes it gets boring at home by yourself, I'm sorry that Nixon likes to wake up at 7:00am on the dot. You are so patient with me and our baby pup. Thank you for all you do, and for doing it with a smile on your face. You are the greatest househubs there EVER was.
Love,
Your Favorite BYU-I Student.
