16 weeks (& 2 days)
I had my 16 week appointment today. Baby Heidorn is healthy and has a fast and strong heartbeat. I love hearing that sound! I actually haven't gained any weight, which is probably why I don't have much of a baby bump showing. Miles and I can both see a little bump forming, but it's hardly there. I've been putting off taking pictures for a while until I started to show, but at 16 weeks I felt it was time to document my pregnancy. Here are some pictures, ENJOY!

Skype Dates
"missing you reminds me how much I really love you"
(text from Miles)
I've been in Connecticut this week shooting a wedding and also fitting in some family portraits for people in my parents ward. It's been great for our bank account, not so great for my pregnant emotions. If you know me well you know I do not function well without my husband. And on top of that I miss my little Nixon pup. I love being here with my family, I absolutely love Connecticut. I loved growing up here, and hope to some day in the near future be able to move back here when Miles graduates. But there's something that has become more and more apparent over the last two years, home is where Miles is; he is my home.So to combat the heartache of being thousands of miles away we've been having nightly skype dates. I brought the mac with me out here and Miles has the iMac at home so it's been very convenient. It certainly can't compare to falling asleep in his arms, but at least I get to see his face before I go to bed. Nixon doesn't quite understand it, he just kind of stares while I talk to him. I miss my boys. Can't wait to be back with them.

YUP THAT'S RIGHT! WE'RE HAVING A BABY! Baby Heidorn #1 is on its way expected to arrive in March 2011. We’re pretty excited! The video is of our nephew Matthew telling my mom in July. I wish I could figure out how to turn the video the other way so you don’t have to turn your head, but I can’t! Right now baby Heidorn is the size of a peach and I'm 13 weeks along. I'm feeling pretty good, happy to be out of the first trimester. There have been a few pregnancy symptoms I’m not so keen on; I haven't enjoyed the month and a half I had of all day sickness or the heightened sense of smell. Wasn't so great sitting next to a foul smelling man on the airplane, or picking up Nixon poops with the little poop bags when we go for walks. I hope I haven't been too irritable and that Miles still loves me... I do play the pregnancy card often.
We're so in love with our little peach. I can't believe we're having a baby! This has been such a surreal experience for me. We went and had our first ultrasound last week and got to hear the heartbeat see our little baby. I can’t believe how much it looks like a little person! We haven’t quite gotten our printer unpacked or I would scan the pictures in. We’ll find out the gender mid-October.
Here's how we found out... on the 4th of July I took my first pregnancy test. It was negative. Miles and I both just had this feeling that the test was wrong. So 3 days later I took another test. It was negative. Again, we just knew it was wrong. Three false negatives later we got our positive! About a million emotions have run through my heart from that day until now, but the strongest feelings are of love and excitement.
We can't wait for the arrival of our little baby!
