Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day snuck up on us this year. We were just so busy getting everything ready to close on our house that we kind of spaced it. During the day I took my little Valentine boyfriend to play at this indoor playground. There's a place here that sells playground equipment and on Wed/Fri mornings they open their sales floor up to open free play. There's 11 playgrounds set up and 2 trampolines. Caiden had a blast. We decided to do handmade gifts this year. Miles surprised me with a sweet photo calendar for 2014 of his favorite moments. He even filled in all our family and friend's birthdays. Thoughtful guy. He also brought home some chocolates which are a pregnant lady's dream. Attached to my present was a heart shaped cookie cutter. He and Caiden worked together and made me heart shaped cookies with ice cream. I'm a spoiled pregnant Valentine. I made Miles a years worth of pre-planned dates book. We extend our Valentine's into the weekend with heart shaped pink pancakes with homemade whipped cream for breakfast. Caiden and I may or may not have had a whipped cream fight in the kitchen resulting in his sweet creamy face.

Pregnancy Update.

 (14 weeks, 16 weeks, 23 weeks, 25 weeks)

I haven't been quite as good about documenting this pregnancy as I was with Caiden. Probably because I'm chasing an almost 3 year old (what?!) around and just haven't had time. It's been sporadic, basically when I feel like I look somewhat decent or actually got dressed that day I decide to take some belly shots.
This pregnancy is going very well. I'm uncomfortable, but it's to be expected. This belly of mine still surprises me when I look down sometimes. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the pregnant body. I went in for my 28 week appointment yesterday, did the glucose test, still waiting to hear on the results but that darn drink made me so sick. I was so dizzy and nauseous until I consumed a large quantity of food afterwards (thank you Bagel Boys for being conveniently located right near the doctor's office and for being so delicious). Luckily it didn't send my heartburn spiraling out of control like it did with Caiden. With C I had bad reflux for 48 hours straight, didn't sleep, threw up a lot, suffocated on said acid a few times, and was finally put on a prescription. This time I brought Tums with me and took them right after the blood work was done, I think it helped. I'M OFFICIALLY IN MY THIRD TRIMESTER I'm excited about that. The days seem really long but overall I think this pregnancy has gone by a lot faster than Caiden's did. Baby boy is cooking away. He's healthy and growing and I couldn't ask for anything more.

At 28 Weeks:
-I feel huge pretty much always, even my maternity pants are starting to feel a bit constricting. Unless I leave the house I'm in leggings all day long. Dresses have quickly become my best friend.
-With all the stress of buying our first home my braxton hicks have started pretty early. I get them pretty routinely after 9 pm. It's a lovely way to fall asleep.
-I've consumed 2 costco size cases of Tums with no end in sight. This heart burn is kicking my butt, but it's better than with C so I'm trying not to complain too much.
-My sweets craving has started, Ben and Jerry's sales probably doubled last month. I now avoid the isle entirely.
-Speaking of things I avoid: salt, at all costs. It did me no good last time around. I don't add it to my food at all. Everything tastes ridiculously bland, but I think my face, thighs, and feet will thank me in the coming weeks.
-Still can't even bear the smell of mint things. Cinnamon toothpaste for life
-I'm measuring right on, so hopefully this baby will arrive all on his own.
-Baby boy absolutely loves my right pelvic bone. I feel like he's nestling a limb in there at all times. It's incredibly uncomfortable.
-I've been having some pretty irrational mood swings as of late. Poor Miles is getting the brunt of it. I think it's in part because I use up all my energy and patience with Caiden all day long, that by the time Miles gets home there just isn't much left. I'm working on it.
-I'm feeling the urge to nest like crazy, but since we are moving into our house on the 28th of this month there is no point. So I've turned to looking at baby clothes online. I still don't know what type of clothing to buy for a newborn in Georgia in May. I feel like he needs to entirely separate wardrobes: one for inside and one for outside.

I am definitely ready to not be pregnant anymore but I'm not ready to be a mommy of two. I'm trying to soak in all the remaining time I have with just Caiden. I let him sit on my lap whenever he asks even though it's rapidly shrinking and pretty uncomfortable. I hold him when I can because I just don't know how much longer he'll want me to. He already weighs 37lbs so it's not easy, but I love having him so close. We've been going on adventures, heading to the park on sunny days, go for walks and jogs on the trails, snuggle (a lot), and I remind him at least 1,000 times a day that I love him so much. I'm still very nervous about how he will transition. There's a lot of changes going on in his life in the next 12 weeks.
