Weekend Visitors.

This last weekend we had some of our most favorite visitors: Grandma Sue and Grandpa Todd (or as Caiden would say bam-ma and bam-ma shu). We jammed a lot of fun into a few short days and miss them so much already. We went bowling, went to Bagelman, went to the Children's Museum of Manhattan, visited the Manhattan temple, went into Times Square, ate at Patsys, went on the subway (Caiden's favorite, the "blue choo choo chain"), went to the movies, and ended the weekend with a fabulous Stake Conference. We did lots of talking, laughing, and walking. Thanks for taking the time to come visit us and spoil us! We loved having you and can't wait until our next visit together!

Baby Bath.

What is it about little bodies in a warm, bubbly tub that make them so scrumptious and extra adorable? I feel like every time Caiden is in the tub I'm snapping photos of him. But I can't help it, that soft skin is irresistible. We love the tub around here, it allows mommy to get ready, C to laugh (a lot) and when he gets out he smells like the same little baby I would get out of the tub two years ago. It's the quickest way to time travel.

Lumberjack Birthday Breakfast.

I still can't believe that Caiden is two! He's 3 feet tall, weights 32 lbs and wears size 8 shoes. He's a true big boy with an ever expanding vocabulary and imagination. On Saturday we hosted a little lumberjack birthday breakfast in honor of our little man's birthday. I had way too much fun with this theme. I was out searching for logs and branches and stumps for weeks. I was painting little lumberjacks, taking Caiden's lumberjack photos at our favorite little Christmas tree farm, researching recipes, sewing napkins, sawing, cutting, baking, designing like crazy... and it all came together in perfect harmony with the visions I had in my head. We gathered some of his little friends to feast on buttermilk pancakes, bacon, eggs, a chocolate ganache rolled log cake [so much harder than in looked], cookies, and smores pops. It was so cute to see Caiden sitting around a little table filled with eight 2-6 year olds that he loves. As soon as they were done eating they were running circles around the house, pretending to be dogs and pirates and Buzz, secretly opening presents, going up and down the stairs, and playing with toys. It was so much fun and we are so grateful to be surrounded by such loving and supportive friends and family. Thanks to everyone that came and those that were thinking of our little man from far away.

Birthday Candles.

One of Caiden's most favorite parts of his birthday this year was blowing out his birthday candles. He would have anyone in the room sing Happy Birthday to him and then he would blow out his candles, pluck them out, and hand them to me to relight. He loved it. He loved having everyone's attention, hearing the song, and blowing out the candles. Most times he would sing along "burbday burbday burbday burbday" with a big smile on his face. We started out the day with birthday donuts and ended the day with a cookie cake, with big smiles, two candles, and lots of singing in between.
