Blue Jay Orchards.

I swore up and down that I was taking Caiden apple picking this year. Last year we had such a crazy spring with it getting hot in March and cooling back off that there weren't many apples to pick. Then hurricane Sandy hit, so we never had the chance. I wanted Miles to be a part of it, so while Caiden and I were in CT last month we went to Blue Jay for the apple cider donuts and played in the orchard, but didn't pick any apples. Well, we never went apple picking. Life got too busy and we didn't make the time. So these are the only apple pictures we have for the year.

Behind the Scenes.

Since moving to Atlanta I've teamed up with a local fashion and lifestyle blogger, Anna. [www.inhonorofdesign.com] It's been a lot of fun and such a great creative outlet for me. What's been really neat is that my photos have been published with Free People, Martha Stewart, and Home Depot. It's also been great for networking. But what I love most is what happens behind the scenes. There are lots of laughs, hot chocolate, crepes, pizza, gelato, and girl talk. Caiden accompanies me on our week day shoots. Sometimes he's in a stroller watching movies. On rainy days when we are braving the weather he's playing with toys in the car. And on days where we're shooting at Anna's house he's having playdates with her daughter. It's been so fun to make creative friendships.

Stone Mountain.

Last weekend we took a quick drive up to Stone Mountain. We decided to do the walk up trail. It's a mile up, mile down and Caiden did the whole thing on his own! We had to give him a few pep talks on the way up (which he really responded to) and by the time we got to the top he was chanting "I can do dis, I can do dis!" The view from top was beautiful. We could see downtown Atlanta and Buckhead. But no view could beat the look of satisfaction on Caiden's face. He was proud of himself. And he ran the whole mile down, jumping off rocks and telling people he was a tiger. We sure love that boy of ours.

A Super Halloween.

We were pretty slow when it came to Halloween festivities this year, but once we started going we picked up momentum quickly. On Halloween we decorated the inside of the house and carved pumpkins. Caiden was not as entertained as I thought he would be. Next year. After naps we started getting ready for trick or treating. Caiden has never been. His first year we were in Rexburg where college students can't trick or treat, the next year we were in Connecticut where Halloween was canceled by Hurricane Sandy. We were very excited to take Caiden and he was very excited to get candy. We went with homemade costumes again this year. Caiden was Superman, Miles was Clark Kent, and I was Lois Lane. The only thing we bought was a Superman shirt for Miles and underwear and boots that we spray painted red for Caiden. We brought Caiden to see my aunt and uncle first. He went trick or treating around their neighborhood with my uncle and then headed back to ours. We were pretty disappointed with our neighborhood. Most of the houses had their lights out and 1 in every 10 were handing out candy. And what is with the deteriorating candy quality? Caiden was given mostly lollipops and gobstoppers which are not really age appropriate and virtually no chocolate. How is a pregnant momma suppose to sneak candy? All in all it was a pretty SUPER Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch & Horses.

We ran pretty late with most of our fall/Halloween festivities. We didn't even decorate the house until Halloween morning. But we did find the time to slip in a trip to the pumpkin patch the day before they closed for the season. We had fun picking out our pumpkins but we had more fun across the street. There was a small horse farm and Caiden was very excited to feed them. He got a little nervous when they were up close but that didn't last too long. It was such a beautiful night. To top off the festivities we stopped at Cracker Barrel on our way home for some french toast. It was a great fall evening!
