This weekend we celebrated our last weekend as just a couple. We got all dolled up and went to Idaho Falls for dinner Friday night. We ate at the Snakebite, which was good but the portions were not worth the price and our waiter was totally tweeking out. We probably won't be going back again. He yelled at Miles, it was awkward. Saturday Miles had a basketball game, so I went to that then we went to lunch with my friend and old roommate, Jenica. It was so nice seeing her! That night we went to Sammy's to listen to Jenica's friend's band play. Caiden was dancing like crazy! Sunday we had Stake Conference, then came home and made cookies and watched movies together all day. It was a nice and relaxing weekend to celebrate our last together as a couple. Here's a picture of us before going to dinner Friday. I wanted to document our last weekend alone. Even if Caiden doesn't come this weekend my mom comes on Friday, so it was definitely our last. It's a bittersweet feeling. Please don't mind my awfully chubby face. It's embarrassing.
Here's the latest with our family:
Miles: He's currently the CEO of his IBC company, Shukrani Beads. I did a blog post about them earlier. They now have an etsy site if you want to purchase things and don't live in Rexburg. Check it out here. His classes are keeping him pretty busy, but he really likes them. He's also playing competitive basketball on campus this semester. He has practice every Tuesday and Thursday and games every Friday or Saturday, it's been a lot of fun watching him play! He's in a little competition with one of his teammates to see who can lose the most weight during the season. They weigh in every Tuesday after practice, loser buys winner a Jamba Juice. Miles has won 2 of the 3 times! Miles has been applying like crazy for internships, and we're starting to see the fruits of his labors! He's been offered 3 or 4 internships in CT and NY, we're still waiting to hear from his top pick, Priceline, before he gives a definitive answer to any of the other companies. But we will DEFINITELY be moving to Connecticut this summer! YAY! So anyone that wants to take a trip to see the east coast come this summer! Miles is really excited to be a daddy, he talks to Caiden every night and rubs my belly, back and feet daily! He's a good husband!
Chelsey: I don't have a whole lot going on except for the ever growing belly and the anticipation of having this baby! I'm working to open my own little etsy shop of graphic prints, invitations, and photo prints. It's called The Print Boutique, I'll let you know when I have stuff posted. So far I've just been working on baby nursery stuff. I recently sewed Nixon some new toys, a blue fuzzy star and a brown gingerbread man with some leftover fabric I had. He brings the gingerbread man to bed with him every night. It's pretty cute, and it makes me feel good! My mom comes on Friday, which I am very excited about! Only 4 more days until I get to see her! Here are the things I'm most excited about living in Connecticut: only having to walk downstairs to talk to my mom, being close to my best friend Jenny Riddle, having a Panera in town, going to the beach that my dad runs during the summer, taking Caiden to his first Mets games, taking Miles to the Manhattan, Boston, and DC temples, taking Miles and Caiden to the ocean in Rhode Island, having a mall with good stores only 10 minutes away, being a part of a good family ward, going to Bunco nights with my mom and Jen, being able to see my nephews whenever I want, helping Jen and Scott move in to their new house, and having mildly humid summers (compared to Nashville, yuck!).
Nixon: Nixon is my best little bud. He hangs out with me at the house all day, protects me from the mailman, and cuddles up with us at night. He likes to sleep either at our toes under the blankets or up top in between us. He loves loves loves to eat carrots. Isn't that weird? And I don't feel bad giving some to him because it's better than meat or junk! He loves to go to the park. He shakes in anticipation when he sees us pulling up to it! His favorite toys right now are his old tattered leash, which we have dubbed "mini leash" and an octopus that's attached to some yarn and we "go fishing" for Nixon. He loves going on car rides and sticking his head out the window, no matter the temperature outside. He knows how to put the windows down on his own, which is extremely frustrating! He loves to cuddle up on the luvsac and take a nap, still wants nothing to do with his kennel. My sister, Nikki, got a puppy a few months ago and Nixon just loves her. They could seriously play all day long, and sometimes do. They're about the same size right now which I think Nixon really appreciates.
Left: what Nixon does every time we leave the house, it's his last defense to try to get us to take him along. It's so cute that it usually works. Right: Nixon testing out our new stroller. Don't mind his scary eyes, both pictures were taken with my phone and the stroller one was taken at about 10:00 at night so I had to use my flash.
He's so cute all cuddled up and sleeping! Once again, not the greatest quality because it was taken with my phone.
Pay special attention to seconds 9-11. This is Nixon and Kona at the park one evening.
love your boots btw
