is my son really 7 months already?

Where have the last seven months gone? Other mom's told me it would go to fast, I had no idea. This month just blew on past. This was the first time that I couldn't get Caiden to crack up with the camera in front of him. He was so solemn and so distracted by the grass, and the bushes, and the leaves, and the cars passing by... Typical though. Here's what the boy has been up to the last month:

-The boy is just days away from crawling. He scoots himself backwards but can't quite seem to get the forward motion. He gets his legs going but can't figure out to move his arms so he nosedives. Rolling is still his main mode of transportation.
-Caiden tried eating baby veggies and fruits (sweet potatoes, squash, bananas and applesauce). Originally he like the sweet potatoes and squash but now he refuses to eat it. He won't even eat the cereal. Suggestions?
-The boy wears 12 month jammies. Really? Stop growing baby!
-My son drinks from a sippy cup. How did this happen? He got it down in 3 tries.
-Nixon now brings his toys to Caiden when he wants to play. He sits and growls and waits for Caiden to throw it for him, but Caiden doesn't quite get it yet. He's just happy Nixon is paying attention to him. Give him a year Nixon, you'll be best buds.
-The boy enjoys watching his own newborn video. He is mesmerized with himself. He's also discovered that he can kiss himself in the mirror. It's my favorite.
-Has started coming around to his car seat, but only because we give him a little treat every time we put him inside. He loves those Gerber puffs, and so do I. They work like magic. Bribery work.
-Caiden loves to cuddle! He wakes up around 7:30 and we cuddle in bed for an hour before getting up for the day. It's nice for me, I ease in to waking up and he's content to play and kick and snuggle.
-Caiden has never been much of a fussy baby. He squints his eyes and pretends to cry when he's upset, but reserves the waterworks for real "emergencies." Recently, he's been letting me know he's tired by going crazy! He laughs, he squeals in delight, his arms and legs go flailing. It's hilarious, but not great for Sacrament meeting! He is such a happy boy. Tired or awake, hungry or full, entertained or not, he is laughing and smiling. It warms my heart. He's my little ray of sunshine.
-His eyes have turned from blue, to a hazel green. They shift from green to gray to dark blue based on what he's wearing though.
-The boy loves to eat grass and leaves. So strange. Put him down on the grass and within seconds his mouth is full of grass. Walk through the gate to get to the door to our place and without even noticing he has plucked a few leaves from the house. We've found a whole leaf in his poop.
-He is our biggest blessing.

Zombie Mom.

In honor of Halloween Caiden decided to turn me in to a Zombie Mom and only allow me to get 3 hours of sleep. I'm not one to blame every sleepless night on teething just to give my exhaustion a reason, but I am pretty sure he's getting at least one new tooth on bottom. His gums are swollen and red and he is miserable! It's just one of those days where I'm on cruise control, running off of See's candy (thank you Mike & Cindy!) and a 5 minute hot shower. In 16 years, when he wants to sleep allllll the time, I'm going to remember this day and sneak into Caiden's room and bang pots and pans over his head. Vengeful? But for a few blissfully peaceful moments, Caiden is taking a nap. I think it's going to be a lights out early night tonight at the Heidorn home. Caiden is so adorable when he sleeps. Don't believe me? Check it out.

Do I take a lot of pictures of my baby sleeping? Yes. And these are just from my phone.

Family Portraits.

A few days before we took these we got a little package in the mail from Miles' mom, Sue. She sent us the adorable RL sweater that Caiden is wearing. It was perfect timing! So thank you Sue, you helped make these pictures amazing! I am in love with the family portraits Nikki took for us. Thank you so much Nik! I love you, they are perfect.

Nikki's Maternity Portraits.

Nikki and Robby came to for a quick little visit last weekend. And though it left me wishing they were closer, I'm so glad they came. While they were here I took a few maternity pictures for them, and in return Nikki shot some family portraits for us. For having only taken a basic photography class, my sister's got skills. She's actually taken almost all of our family portraits. I will post them later.
Nikki was 28 weeks in these photos. Her little belly is so cute. I kept looking at her all weekend because a part of me still can't believe my baby sister is pregnant! I'm so happy for her and Robby.
