Caiden has a lot of new tricks as of late. 1. Like how he taught himself to whistle 2. His "no no no" 3. Balancing a spoon on his nose 4. Saying "dog dog" 5. Unrolling all of the toilet paper in a matter of seconds 6. Helping to remodel the bathroom at Granin and Poppy's house 7. Jibber jabbing on the phone as he holds it to his ear
He's also started taking steps on his own but he's been alluding the camera. It seems as soon as I turn it on he stops. He's a turkey.
11 months? Already? It all goes by too quickly. I love this little man so much. I'm so grateful that I'm able to stay home with him all day and soak up his sweetness. He is so much fun to play with! Everything is a toy and everything is exciting. It's so much fun to be a part of.
-The boy has added the word "dog" to his slowly expanding vocabulary. What can I say, the boy loves his "dog dog" -We found out he was allergic to amoxicillin and penicillin after his body was covered in hives, poor baby boy! -He will pull himself up to stand, get his balance, and let go to stand on his own. He loves to hold your fingers and walk, AND he took his first step (1 step 4 times). -Caiden had his first Valentine's date with his momma! Pizza lunch and heart shaped balloons. -The boy is full of snuggles and kisses, especially when he's tired. He'll crawl up to you, pull himself to stand, and then nuzzle in. I love it. -He is very self entertained these days. -The boy has developed a little attitude this month. He will let you know what he wants and when he wants it (usually RIGHT NOW). -Caiden has quite the pitchers arm... he's been practicing by throwing his sippy when he's done, phones at the dogs, and silverware constantly, playing catch with his dada, and fetch with his dog dog. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the slightest bit proud.
The bench was made for Caiden by his Grandpa Heidorn! Isn't it amazing? I knew as soon as I saw it I had to take his 11 month photos on it. We absolutely love it Mike! Thank you so much.
I know that in 15 years Caiden will be mortified when I drag these pictures out to show his first girlfriend, but that's what mom's are for right? You can't expect much less from a mom that also happens to have a Fine Art's degree in Photography. We'll just add these to the list of photos my son will find embarrassing someday (like his Risky Business Halloween photos, or the Native American Thanksgiving portraits, or the naked bum Christmas portraits). I promise I will not dress him up like a bunny at Easter. Caiden loved the sprinkles in the top pictures. I think it looks like he's pouring some magic love dust in the right side picture. Maybe he poured love dust all over his momma and that's why I find his chunky cheeks so irresistible!
I have never met a baby that loves to be outside quite as much as the boy does. He squeals with delight when I bring him out to let Nixon on the line in the yard. The weather has been so nice we've been taking nice long walks just to get him outside. He stands up and bangs on the door to be let out. He is so strong he can pull the sliding door open. He's crazy for the outdoors! He and Nixon just sit and beg to go outside together. Had to capture the moment before it's fleeting. He also loves getting into the kitchen drawers and pulling out the pots and pans. He'll clank and bang and have a grand ole time. I love that boy so much. Oh and HE TOOK HIS FIRST STEP! It was only one step, but he did it twice! He'll be running around before I know it. He's growing up too fast! Next week he'll be 11 months.
We've been hit with a bit of a warm streak across the nation. I can't complain about 55 degree January days. Caiden's been enjoying being bundled up outside. He loves to be outside. Miles and Caiden hit the driveway basketball hoop a few evenings ago. Caiden loved dunkin with dada. Miles is excited to teach him to play for real! I said give it at least 6 months.
Mid-January we had our first real snowfall of the winter. We bundled up in snowgear and grabbed the sleds and took Caiden sledding for the first time in my parents front yard. He was squealing with delight! Thank goodness we went that day, it was melted by morning. When we came inside we let Caiden try his first hot chocolate (or should I say lukewarm chocolate) in his sippy to help warm up. He was obsessed. He literally could not get enough.
A few weeks ago, Miles bought Caiden his first set of blocks. To say he loves them would be an understatement. He especially loves it when you build something and he can knock it down. He shouts with excitement when you say "heeeeeey BABY!" A boy and his blocks.
